Corn Palace

An unprecedented symbol of United States, Corn Palace is famed for its folk art icon representing South Dakota. A visit to Corn Palace is like stepping inside a place where you are inculcated with some heart-pleasing and inspirational stories about South Dakota, its history, evolution, development, people and culture. The most eye-catching part of the Corn Palace is its architecture. The entire facility is made up of corns of 12 different colors framed with native grasses, sourdock, milo, and straw. The entire corn is grown by local farmers. All the murals are designed by a skillful local artist. More than 20 workers remain engaged into changing out all the murals as soon as we approach late-August and September. Oscar Howe, Cal Schultz, and Cherie Ramsdell are amongst dexterous artists who designed the murals of the Corn Palace. Its free guided tours span for 45 minutes.
